osivibecode operates the Elektronik 198x mobile application, a collection of 1980s-style LCD handheld games. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled. In short: we do not collect personally identifiable information (PII), and everything you play stays on your device â unless you choose to join the global leaderboard, which is described in section 4 and is entirely optional. Buying the optional Elektronik PRO subscription is handled by your app store and is described in section 6.
The app stores your progress in an on-device database (SQLDelight) and your settings in local storage (Android DataStore / iOS local storage). This data is never transmitted to us unless section 4 applies:
The games are fully playable without an account, without a name, and without a network connection. Nothing about your play leaves your device by default.
The app offers an optional global leaderboard. Nothing is sent and no account exists until you join it yourself. If you do join:
This data is stored in a Google Firebase project operated by osivibecode (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Firebase Authentication). It is used solely to display leaderboards inside the app. It is never sold, and it is not used for advertising.
You can turn off score posting at any time in Settings > Global board, and you can delete everything â your name, your scores, and the anonymous account â from the same screen. See section 11.
To keep the app free, Elektronik 198x uses the following services:
The app offers an optional paid subscription, Elektronik PRO. Nothing in this section applies unless you open the purchase screen or subscribe.
We never see your payment details. The purchase itself is made with Apple or Google, using the payment method on your store account. Card numbers, billing addresses, and your store account email are handled entirely by them and are never sent to us or to our processor.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:
This is used only to unlock and restore what you paid for, and to see how many subscriptions are active in aggregate. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising. RevenueCat processes it as our processor under its own privacy policy.
Your scores, your leaderboard name, and everything in section 2 are never sent to RevenueCat or to the app stores.
Restoring a purchase on a new device asks the app store which subscriptions your store account holds; it does not move any other data. Subscription records are retained for as long as the subscription exists and afterwards for the period the store and our processor require for billing, tax, and refund records. Cancelling or refunding is handled by your app store, as described in the EULA.
On first launch the app presents Google's User Messaging Platform consent form where required (for example in the EEA and the UK). Your choice determines whether ads are personalized or non-personalized. You can change it later from the app's privacy options.
On iOS, Elektronik 198x uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
Elektronik 198x is a general-audience app intended for users aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The advertising SDK is configured accordingly: child-directed treatment is disabled, under-age-of-consent is disabled, and ad content is capped at a "Teen" maturity rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information â including a leaderboard name â please contact us and we will remove it.
Local data: Because it is stored only on your device, we have no copy of it. Clear the app's storage in your device settings, or uninstall the app, and it is gone.
Leaderboard data: If you joined the global board, open Settings > Global board > Delete my board data. This removes your scores, releases your name, and deletes the anonymous account. It cannot be undone, and a released name may be claimed by someone else afterwards. You can also write to the address in section 13 and we will do it for you.
Subscription records: Retained as described in section 6. We cannot delete a purchase record held by Apple or Google â those are billing records of the store you bought from.
Weekly and monthly leaderboard entries are deleted automatically once the period they belong to has passed. All-time entries are kept until you delete them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
